Justo Méndez Arámburu is the founder and executive director of Nuestra Escuela, alongside his wife and Deputy Director, Ana Yris Guzmán Torres. He has a Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences and studied Social Planning and Non Profit Organizations Administration at a Masters level. In Puerto Rico, Justo was awarded the Educator of the Year Recognition by the Legislature and the Sor Isolina Ferré Medal to Excellence in Service to Others.

His vision was fundamental in developing the public policy that stands for holistic educational services to youth at risk. Promoter of the Alliance for Alternative Education, Justo has been able to build a strong network that supports alternative education.
