Description:
You will start your morning awakening your senses in the Cagüitas River’s Embankment with a tour of the Concrete Sculpture Biennial Exhibition, with a guide from the Cultural Development Department of the Autonomous Municipality of Caguas. The sculpture garden is a space where divine creation and artistic expressions of renowned local and international artists come together. You will then enjoy an exquisite variety of handmade ice creams just before arriving at the Arts and Crafts Plaza, where you will be able to buy crafts by local artisans.
We will then go to the Santiago R. Palmer Recreational Plaza, in the traditional Urban Center, so that you can enjoy some local cuisine. This tour includes a visit to Luis Miranda “Pico de Oro” Home and Museum. Luis Miranda was one the most important exponents of the décima espinela, a local musical genre. The exhibit at the Home and Museum consists of a graphic representation of traditional musical history of the “jíbaros” from Puerto Rico’s central region, particularly of Caguas. It is a tribute to all of the great ‘trovadores’, which are virtuosos of the local tradition of musical improvisation.
The tour comes to an end with a visit to the Popular Arts Museum, a space honoring the most important exponents of Puerto Rican Arts and Crafts.
